I went and saw my GI (gastroenterologist) today. She's my doctor from Iowa City, and Iowa City Children's hospital now has a deal where a few pediatric doctors from several departments come the 100 miles up to Dubuque to see their patients, since there are MANY pediatric patients in Dubuque who constantly have to go down to Iowa City. And now we don't have to as often. :)
So anyway. Brief info on the problem I've been having - I get horrible cramps and sharp sharp sharp pains accompanied with extreme urgency to go #2 very often. I usually double over in pain from this sudden on-take of cramps and pain, and sometimes struggle to walk normally to the bathroom because the pain is so severe. At first this was only happening every few days or so. That was over a year ago. It would come and go, and now for the past few months it's not going away anymore, and it's just getting worse, to the point where I'm going to the bathroom about 3 times a day, each time I have the pains, and sometimes I get pains and I don't even have to go! Not even gas or anything. So we saw my doctor today, she examined me, gave me what's called a rectal exam (if you don't know what that is... I'm not explaining it.), and she said what she felt was tight, like it has been for about a year now, and something was very hard on the outside of the colon wall. It hasn't ever been "hard" before. So I'll be getting a CT scan next week to see what's up, and hopefully we can get some answers from the scan. If not, I'm not sure what they'll do, but they won't ignore this.
Thanks for taking the time to read and being supportive. It really means a lot.
