When you stand for 9 hours straight, it's amazing how you don't even realize just how tired and sore you really truely are until you finally sit down.
I love my job. It's really cool. Working with animals, doing good stuff. It's fun. However, since it's summer, I'm working very long shifts, very often open to close.
I'm so very grateful for these 2 full days off here, and almost an entire week off next week.
Not only am I excited for a day off tomorrow, I'm excited to finally play with an ensemble group again! I've been so deprived this summer from chamber/ensemble music. I miss it so much. Certainly I've been really improving my solo skills (and boy are they paying off!), but I love interacting with people (in moderation), and making something that sounds excellent, doing something I truely love to do, and especially doing it with other people who enjoy it as much as I do is something I find very rewarding, very theraputic to the soul, and just simply very fun.
So I'm really really really looking forward to tomorrow, I'll be stepping in as a last-minute fill in cellist for the "Dubuque Fiddler's" group that Sally plays in (viola).
This probably sounds really sad, but I miss it soooo much.
